Community Impact

Reno Food & Drink Week celebrates more than exceptional food and drink. It exists to elevate Reno’s culinary community by spotlighting the chefs, restaurants, makers, and hospitality professionals who shape the region’s evolving food culture.

The event brings increased visibility, guest traffic, and recognition to participating establishments while encouraging exploration across the local dining landscape. Guests are introduced to new restaurants, rediscover longtime favorites, and engage more deeply with the people and businesses behind Reno’s food-and-drink scene.

At the same time, Reno Food & Drink Week recognizes that strong culinary communities are closely connected to strong communities overall. Many of the establishments that participate in the event actively support local causes throughout the year, reflecting the generous spirit that defines Reno’s hospitality community.

Throughout the year, Reno Food & Drink Week and Hungry in Reno work together to highlight nonprofit organizations, create opportunities for charitable engagement, and direct a portion of select event proceeds to local causes that strengthen Northern Nevada.

During Reno Food & Drink Week (Mar. 18 – 31)

Select local charities will be featured throughout the Reno Food & Drink Week ecosystem.

Each featured charity will receive coordinated visibility through a spotlight within the RFDW app and on the website, social media promotion, event communications and announcements, a portion of The Experience ticket sales, and points opportunity within The Signature Giveaway.

Experience Contributions
Every Reno Food & Drink Week Experience will designate one of the featured nonprofit partners as its benefiting charity. Ten dollars ($10) from every Experience ticket sold during Reno Food & Drink Week will be directed to the designated nonprofit. The benefiting organization will be clearly identified within each Experience listing.

Points Opportunity
For each of the featured nonprofit partners, participants may earn:

  • 100 points by donating $25 or more directly to the nonprofit and uploading their donation receipt within the app
  • 50 points by sharing the nonprofit’s official spotlight post or donation link on social media, tagging the nonprofit and @RenoFoodWeek, and using the hashtag #RFDWCommunityImpact

Participants may complete both actions for each featured nonprofit. A maximum of 150 points per charity may be earned during the event, for a total possible maximum of 750 Community Impact points. Only points earned during the official event earning window apply toward the current year’s Signature Giveaway.

Donations are to be made directly to the nonprofit organization and are not payments to Reno Food & Drink Week.

Quarterly Community Spotlight

Beyond Reno Food & Drink Week, one local charity will be selected each quarter for a coordinated spotlight presented jointly by Reno Food & Drink Week and Hungry in Reno.

Each quarterly spotlight includes:

  • A dedicated website feature
  • App-based participation opportunities
  • Coordinated social media promotion
  • A live event where a designated portion of proceeds benefits the selected nonprofit

Earning Year-Round Points
During quarterly Community Impact activations, participants may earn Year-Round Points through qualifying donation or social participation activities as outlined in the app.

Year-Round Community Impact points do not apply toward the current year’s Signature Giveaway unless earned during the official event earning window.

Contribution amounts for quarterly events may vary depending on the event format and structure.
